Our Story
How it Began
…
CalmTogether began with one person, one room, and one big idea.
A tiny office in Newcastle. A vision to offer something different — accessible, trauma-informed support for individuals and families who often fall through the cracks.
We knew the system wasn’t working for everyone. So we started small.
Pop-up sessions in community centres. Borrowed rooms. Wherever people needed us, we showed up.
Over time, CalmTogether grew — not just in size, but in purpose.
Now based in Houghton-le-Spring, we’re proud to serve our local community with a calm, welcoming space. We offer coaching, therapy, and wellbeing support that’s rooted in real experience — and led by qualified professionals who care deeply.
We’ve faced challenges along the way. Running a practice. Holding space for others. Staying grounded through uncertainty. But we’re still here. And more motivated than ever.
And somewhere along the way, Quack and Waddle joined us.
Two little ducks who remind us — and our clients — that healing doesn’t have to be heavy. That play, curiosity, and connection are part of the process. They’ve become symbols of our journey: imperfect, resilient, and always moving forward.
CalmTogether is more than a service. It’s a commitment.
To doing things differently. To showing up with care.
To helping people feel seen, supported, and strong — in work, in life, and in community.
If you’ve felt unheard, overlooked, or stuck in the same old cycle of support that doesn’t work, now is the time to break free. Calm Together is here to offer you a new path to healing—one that understands your story and brings forward-thinking solutions to your challenges.
